In August 2018, Mary Baird of Carillon Tower and War Memorial Museum was interviewed on BBC Radio Leicester about the project she spearheaded to document the story of Loughborough’s war horse, Songster, for everyone to enjoy.
The project resulted in a children’s picture book written by Alison Mott and Liz Waddell, the team behind Charnwood Creatives.
The trio later promoted the book in Loughborough Market Place and, on 11th November 2018, at Remembrance day events in the town centre to mark the hundredth anniversary of the first Armistice Day in 1918.
You can hear Mary’s interview here and an interview the following week with Alison and Liz here.
